Job Summary
Pharmacist Technician
As part of our expanding clinical team, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacist Technician to support the delivery of safe, effective systems for repeat prescriptions, medicines optimisation, waste reduction, and maximising patient outcomes. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a positive, professional attitude. You will be confident in working with patients, colleagues, and surgery staff both in person and over the telephone.

Key Responsibilities
* Support the repeat prescription process, including medication reviews and synchronisation.
* Provide advice on medicines and prescribing queries to patients and colleagues.
* Carry out audits and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
* Assist the implementation of local and national prescribing guidelines.
* Support the clinical team with medication-related tasks, including reconciliation post-discharge.
* liaise where necessary with community pharmacists and other pharmacists in relation to medicine optimisation.
* Support the practice in achieving Quality Outcomes Framework targets and other external targets.
* Support the implementation of local and national prescribing guidelines, formulary updates and safety alerts.
Place of Work
The main place of work will be based at Haresfield Surgery, with occasional travel to the branch Surgery in Kempsey.
Training and Professional Development
Training requirements will be monitored by yearly appraisal. Personal development will be encouraged and supported by the Practice. It is the individual’s responsibility to remain up to date with recent developments.
About Us
Haresfield Surgery, located within the Worcester City locality, provides general medical services to approximately 18,300 patients. Our team includes six Partners, eight Salaried GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Registrars, GP Clinical Pharmacists, a dedicated Management Team, and a strong Nursing workforce, all supported by skilled Care Navigators and Administrators. Our premises offer modern facilities, and we operate a dispensing branch in Kempsey. We use EMIS WEB clinical software and support the education and training of GP Registrars and Medical Students. We are a well-established training practice with a long-standing partnership with the University of Birmingham Medical School.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
* GPhC-approved Level 3 integrated qualification or Level 3 Pharmacy Technician (integrated) Apprenticeship
* Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grades A*-C (9-4) including English, Maths, and Science
Desirable
* Experience in a General Practice, NHS or Healthcare setting
* Appreciation of primary care prescribing, rational prescribing concepts and prescribing improvement strategies
Experience and Personal Qualities
Essential
* Experience dealing directly with patients/customers
* Experience in a community or Primary Care Pharmacy setting
* Proven accuracy and attention to detail
