Senior Social Worker – Children in Care (Multiple Teams)
Bradford Council, Contract. £35 per hour LTD (inclusive of holiday pay) or £28.11 per hour PAYE (exclusive of holiday pay). Hybrid working.
About the Role
As a Senior Social Worker within Children in Care, you will manage complex caseloads, lead on permanency planning, and deliver high-quality, child‑centred practice. This 13‑month contract offers stability, competitive pay, and the opportunity to work within supportive and experienced teams. Hybrid working balances flexibility with service and team requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake comprehensive assessments and develop outcome‑focused care plans
* Manage and lead complex cases involving children in care
* Progress permanency planning, including long‑term placements and court work where required
* Work effectively within multi‑agency partnerships (education, health, safeguarding, legal services)
* Provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced social workers
* Maintain accurate, high‑quality case recordings in line with statutory requirements
* Ensure all interventions promote safeguarding, stability, and positive long‑term outcomes
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
* Significant post‑qualifying experience within Children’s Services
* Strong background in Children in Care or safeguarding teams
* Confident managing complex cases and court proceedings
* Excellent assessment, analytical, and report‑writing skills
* Ability to work independently and within a team environment
* Flexibility to attend the office when required
