About Westpac

Australia’s oldest bank and one of the four major banking organisations in the country. Through Westpac Institutional Bank, we support corporate, institutional and government clients globally with specialist expertise across banking, markets and capital markets services.

Our London office is a key international hub, working closely with teams across Australia, Asia, Europe and the Americas. The business plays an important role in supporting cross border funding, investor access, and international capital markets activity for clients in the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

This role sits within the Debt Capital Markets and Syndicate platform of Westpac Institutional Bank.

How Will I Help

Director, DCM Origination and Coverage is a senior client facing role focused on originating, structuring and executing debt capital markets transactions across UK and European markets.

The role combines deep product expertise with relationship management, delivering tailored funding solutions to institutional, corporate and financial institution clients.

The Director will lead origination across a broad range of products including senior unsecured bonds, medium‑term notes, Kangaroo bonds, private placements, subordinated debt and liability management transactions. Acting as a trusted advisor, the role provides guidance on capital structure, market conditions, investor appetite and optimal issuance strategy.

A key focus of the role is to strengthen and evolve Westpac’s DCM platform in UK and Europe, connecting regional clients to Westpac’s deep expertise and investor base in Australia and New Zealand. The role also supports Australian and New Zealand clients with their international funding and broader global fixed‑income activities, particularly primary market issuance.

The successful candidate will be recognised as a market‑facing senior practitioner with strong technical capability, credibility with clients and established market relationships.
