We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate English Teacher to join our SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Blandford Forum. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who benefit from a nurturing, tailored educational approach.
About the Role:
As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to students with diverse needs, fostering a positive learning environment that promotes confidence and academic growth. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support the emotional wellbeing and development of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with curriculum standards
2. Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of SEMH students
3. Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
4. Support students in developing social and emotional skills alongside academic knowledge
5. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
6. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support student wellbeing
The Ideal Candidate:
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
8. Experience teaching English at secondary or SEND/Specialist settings preferred
9. Understanding of SEMH needs and trauma-informed approaches
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
11. Compassionate, patient, and resilient attitude
12. Ability to work effectively as part of a dedicated team
