About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Audit & Accounts Senior to provide exceptional auditing and assurance services to a diverse range of clients. You will also support the development of less senior staff, ensuring they have the relevant knowledge and training to progress. Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading client audit engagements, including planning, executing, directing, and completing financial audits, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
2. Proactively identifying key risk areas during audit planning, including audit and control risks, and tailoring audit programs accordingly.
3. Preparing audit planning memoranda, programs, and budgets in a timely manner.
4. Performing substantive and compliance testing, evaluating errors, and resolving issues.
5. Ensuring all responsibilities on audit assignments are completed accurately and on time.
6. Managing and coordinating the audit team within time and budget constraints.
7. Resolving audit files with clients and staff efficiently and accurately.
8. Assisting junior staff in understanding software packages, auditing, tax laws, and statutory requirements.
9. Investigating audit review queries and providing recommendations.
10. Preparing management letters and closing reports in accordance with legislation and standards.
11. Developing effective relationships with clients to ensure retention of business.
12. Liaising with providers and statutory authorities on behalf of clients.
13. Completing all client work within deadlines and maintaining confidentiality and documentation standards.
About You
You should have a solid understanding and experience with diverse clients, documenting systems procedures for complex cycles, identifying key controls, and tailoring testing procedures. You should also possess:
* Substantial accounting practice experience
* ACA/ACCA qualification or studying at an advanced level
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with Xero, Sage, CCH, Caseware
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
* Reliability, autonomy, excellent time management, and attention to detail
* Commercial awareness, flexibility, professionalism, confidence, and relationship-building skills
