About the Role

We are seeking an experienced VP of HR to join our UK team. We’re looking for a forward-thinking VP of HR to lead, mature, and scale our HR function while ensuring we stay agile, compliant, and aligned with our values. In this role you will primarily focus on managing employee relations (ER) cases, providing expert guidance on employment law matters and supporting key internal projects such as global expansion, performance management, salary banding and organizational structure whilst leading day to day HR related tasks. What you’ll be doing

* Define and execute a scalable HR strategy aligned with company goals
* Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and leadership team on all HR-related matters
* Lead workforce planning, organisational design
* Design and continuously improve onboarding, offboarding, performance reviews, and engagement processes
* Partner closely with managers to deliver people-first, compliant, and effective solutions on performance, compensation, and employee relations and rewards
* Ensure HR policies and practices are legally compliant and up to date with changing employment laws (e.g. UK, EU, US or global jurisdictions as needed)
* Provide expert advice and guidance on employment law and ER cases
* Managing and resolving a range of employee relations (ER) cases, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies
* Be the go-to person for HR related queries around benefits, complaints & support
* Own relationships with external providers for payroll, benefits, pensions, and training
* Provide training and support to managers on HR topics — from employment law to feedback and upskilling
* Use data to drive decisions, iterate quickly, and scale best practices that align with our values
* Supporting the development and implementation of internal projects such as job architecture mapping and salary banding

Skills We Need for This Role

* Previous experience as a VP of HR or Director of HR, ideally within a fast-growing startup or SaaS business (Series-B to D+ would be ideal)
* Proven experience in managing complex employee relations (ER) cases and applying employment law expertise
* Experience building or maturing HR functions from the ground up
* Strong understanding of employment law with the ability to provide clear, concise advice and recommendations
* Experience in a variety of HR projects in areas such as job architecture, salary banding, benefits, on/ offboarding and organisational structure
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
* CIPD Level 5 or above would be advantageous
