Controls Assurance TestingJob Description
Purpose of the role
To partner with the bank, to provide independent insurance on control processes and advise on improvements to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework.
Accountabilities
1. Collaboration across the bank to maintain a satisfactory, robust, and efficient control environment through the execution of ad-hoc assessments and testing on the design and operational effectiveness of the internal controls, aligned to control policies and standards.
2. Development of detailed test plans and procedures to identify weaknesses in internal controls and other initiatives aligned to the bank's control framework to mitigate any potential risks and issues, prioritised by its severity to disrupt bank operations, potential losses, and reputational impact.
3. Development of a knowledge centre containing detailed documentation of control assessments, testing on design and operational effectiveness of procedures, findings, and the distribution of material on internal controls to train and upskill colleagues within the bank.

To be successful as a Controls Assurance Testing you should have:
16. Experience of working in a risk, control, audit orernance function. Strong report writing skills and project management skills.
17. Pro-active and delivery focused, working to high standards of performance
18. Ability to prioritise and work under pressure, delivering to tight deadlines and multiple demands.
19. Ability to influence others and relay information in a clear and concise manner.
20. Knowledge of the Financial Services, Retail Banking or regulatory environment or Experience of working within the financial services industry.
Some other highly valued skills include:
21. Experience with data analytics tools and techniques, technology controls testing would be significantly beneficial.
22. Knowledge or background within auditing, internal or external.
