Planner – Senior Consultant
Salary is DOE

What you'll do
The role of senior planning consultant will involve working on a variety of projects, supporting senior staff and Directors on major project work, providing direct client advice on sites and projects, drafting reports and planning submissions (site assessments, policy notes, applications, development plan representations, and Environmental Statements) and assisting with the management of the team’s caseload.
Key tasks include:
* senior staff and Directors to drive forward major projects
* small to medium-sized planning applications
* research and analysis
* planning appraisals of land, buildings and concepts
* planning reports and planning applications
* with planning officers, employees of consultee organisations and third parties
* and cultivating good relationships with clients, colleagues and fellow professionals
* creative and original solutions
* financial responsibility for small to medium-sized projects from inception through to completion
* informed about documents relating to planning policy and practice
Attending external events and providing presentations
Qualities & attributes
* should be degree-qualified in a relevant field with a genuine interest and enthusiasm for planning 5-10 years of experience working in the private or public sector
* understanding of the principles of planning
* at presentations and technical writing

Qualities & attributes
* and highly motivated, with an interest for working in the landscape planning sector
* communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work collaboratively
* to learn and develop new skills, including in project management and the essential commercial aspects of consultancy work
* in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, with knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and GIS being desirable
* to detail and ability to work with accuracy to support the preparation of relevant documents
* and willingness to travel across the UK, as the position involves travel
* UK driving licence is an essential requirement
* towards chartership with the Landscape Institute is desirable, and candidates will have the opportunity to work with LI Pathway to Chartership mentors
