About The Role: Shift Pattern: Varied Job role overview: The FSO will be expected to set up and operate all Mail Room and Despatch Equipment including Stackers, Strappers Palletisers Pallet Trucks (PPT), Forklift Trucks (FLT) and to assist in the Press Hall in line when required. At all times, the FSO will ensure that bundle and finished pallet is of optimum quality and that finished product will be loaded on to the correct vehicle in a safe and appropriate manner. Additionally, the FSO is expected to work flexibly across the NPHL operations and as part of a team to meet the business needs. Key accountabilities: Ensure pre and post run checks are carried out and any faults or defects reported via appropriate reporting. Systems to the appropriate point of escalation. This should include all relevant equipment and material Handling equipment. Prior to production check that all equipment is set up in production/run mode and that all required production Data is input and correct. Ensure that machines are loaded and replenished with sufficient supplies of consumable material and Required stock levels i.e. strapping, under wrap and stretch wrap. Monitoring product presentation and quality checks throughout the production run. Clearing jams, fixing minor machine faults as trained to minimise disruption to production within the health a nd safety guidelines. To assist in the manual movement of product in the event of equipment failure. Carry out all FLT duties which include Loading/Unloading all vehicles correctly. Complete post run checks and cleaning of machinery and trucks to ensure that all equipment is maintained in good condition for incoming production. FLT/PPT battery maintenance (Charging and topping up) in line with the OEM recommendations. Assist in the transporting of printing plates out to the press lines from the CTP sortation units and fitting plates (as TIG) when and as required or instructed. To give appropriate assistance to the NPHL Press crews as and when required or instructed. Adhere to relevant Health and Safety requirements i.e. Safety Wear, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and Manual Handling guidelines. Any Health and Safety concerns are reported to the appropriate point of escalation and/or NPHL Helpdesk. Reporting shall be covered in an incident /near miss document Follow the safe systems of working as dictated in your training information guides and risk assessments. All pre and post run checks of associated equipment are to be conducted in line with NPHL standards. Any equipment defect is reported appropriately. All material handling vehicles operations must be carried out as per training. Any additional department specific health and safety requirements associated with the FSO role must be adhered to. Keeping the immediate working area safe and clear of any impediments, such as trip hazards, spills, etc. Keep area and machines clean and tidy and dispose of waste in the correct manner. Housekeeping standards are maintained in line with the area visual standards. The FSO should only undertake a task that they are trained in and competent to do. Support training of new staff members Assist NPHL to meet all KPI (Key Performance Indicators) requisites through all production shifts. Accurately and legibly complete all relevant documentation associated with all relevant tasks. All other reasonable requests to meet the needs of the business. Excellent team working skills and ability to at all times integrate with both OCS employees and NPHL employees. Ability to understand and complete reasonable requests and tasks set by management. Ability to take responsibility & ownership for the various tasks involved in the working area. Ability to assist colleagues in other operations/ departments as required Good numeracy and literacy skills. Must be computer literate. Ability to learn and understand the internal operating systems and processes. Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills. Ability to work on own initiative. Good organisational skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised. Ability to work safely. License/certification for any material handling equipment you are required to operate.
