About The Role
Balfour Beatty is seeking a Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor to join our Ground Engineering Team at the Sizewell C project in Suffolk.
The HSW Advisor will ensure project compliance with health, safety, and wellbeing standards by providing technical advice, guidance, and support on health and safety matters.
This is a site-based role. Subsistence allowance will be paid for employees working away from home due to the project's location.

What you'll be doing
1. Provide visible active support and advice to the project.
2. Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with the Safety Management System, recommending corrective actions as needed.
3. Support the promotion and delivery of the Zero Harm Journey Plan.
4. Coordinate with Environmental and Quality auditors to ensure health and safety are integrated with environmental compliance.
5. Manage external audits, implement corrective actions, and close out audit findings.
6. Support the adoption of Balfour Beatty BMS requirements.
7. Deliver health and safety inductions, training, and presentations, including drug and alcohol testing.
8. Encourage staff and subcontractors to behave safely.
9. Assist in investigating, reporting, and recommending actions for accidents and incidents.
10. Provide health and safety support to the southern RDP and Lower Thames Projects.
11. Work with the HSES Manager to identify required competencies and certifications for staff, ensuring delivery and maintenance.
12. Review and advise on Method Statements and Risk Assessments from internal teams and supply chain.
13. Perform other health and safety duties as assigned by the HSES Manager.
Who we're looking for
Essential
* NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent in safety management (or evidence of working towards relevant qualifications). Relevant experience may be considered.
Desirable
* CMIOSH
* Accident/incident investigation training
* Train the trainer qualifications
* Experience in health and safety roles, preferably in highway, major projects, or construction. Some environmental experience is desirable.
* Sound technical health and safety knowledge.
* Ability to work independently and within teams.
