Role- Mechanical Design Engineer
Salary- £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

My client works within manufacturing and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Designer, on a permanent basis, in the York area.
Design Engineering – SolidWorks – Jigs & Fixtures – Design for Manufacture – Mechanical Design – Research & Development
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
BSc / BEng qualified in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Design / Product Design Engineering or similar
3 – 6 years' or more of industry experience working in similar mechanical design engineer role working on design for manufacture
Scientific and Technology industry knowledge
UHV Experience desirable
Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – injection moulded plastics, metals etc.
Excellent knowledge and proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software ideally
Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Full UK Driving Licence
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
Designing both new products and updating existing products – developing detailed mechanical designs
Designing production jigs & fixtures
Being involved in developing detailed mechanical designs using SolidWorks and the associated documentation
Liaising with colleagues and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on-time and within budget
Carrying out post-production design changes
Managing a variety of projects
Assisting colleagues with any engineering or manufacturing issues that may arise
