Offer description

This post is fixed term/secondment for 10 months until the 10/4/2027 due to maternity Leave. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the School Nursing Service for a School Health Assistant. This vacancy, will be 13.5 hours, and will be paid at Band 3 and based at Abergele Clinic, Conwy. The role will involve working alongside the School Nursing teams and will include a variety of tasks including contributing to the Child Measurement Programme, Vision and Audiology Screening, contributing to the delivery of the Immunisation Programme as set by Welsh Government and general administration support. Main duties of the job

To assist and support School Nurses in the delivery of the Child Health Promotion Programme

Qualifications

* Good standard of education, including GCSE English and Maths Grades A-C or equivalent Level II qualification.
* Minimum of 46 credits from any pillar of the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales mapped to an individual's job role at level 2 (60% of which must be at level 2).
* Community experience.


Experience

* Experience of working with children and young people
* Experience of working in health visiting, school nursing, children's social care team or education.


Aptitude and abilities

* Be able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when working with others.
* Ability to engage members of the public.
* Ability to speak Welsh.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
