We are seeking a part-time Butcher to help run the day to day operation of our catering butchery in Worthing. At this stage the role will require 15-20 hours per week and 35-40 hours per week when other staff are on holiday.
The role requires, but is not limited to the following:-
Assist in the daily preparation of all customer orders.
General butchery skills and tasks e.g. preparing various meat joints, dicing, mincing, packing.
Prepare products using the mincing equipment e.g. beef mince
Prepare burgers using the burger maker.
Prepare sausage meat using the sausage meat machine.
Using the vacuum packer, scales and label printer.
Assist cleaning the butchery after each shift.
Assist to store product deliveries in the chiller and freezer.
Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards mandated by EHO and comply with current HACCP and hygiene regulations.
Prefer a butcher with several years' experience preferably in catering, but not essential. The role may suit a retired butcher or an experienced meat worker like a chef or a younger person wishing to learn the catering butchery / meat business.
Require Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2.
