Design Manager
Location: Borehamwood, Hertfordshire
JRL Civil Engineering is part of the JRL Group, which encompasses 14+ divisions delivering bespoke solutions for complex projects. Since 2005, we have become an industry leader in the installation of CFA, Rotary Bored, Cased CFA, and Secant Pile Retaining Walls.
Our capabilities include design and installation of Working Platforms, piling muck-away, piling attendances, and acting as Principal Contractor.
Due to upcoming projects, we are seeking a Design Manager to join the team.
Responsibilities:
* Managing a team of designers to produce safe, innovative, constructible, and economical engineering solutions.
* Managing workload across the technical team and external design resources.
* Developing and maintaining relationships with Consultants and Clients.
* Mentoring less experienced team members.
* Managing tender and contract design processes within schedule, budget, and technical requirements.
* Developing safe and cost-effective engineering solutions that meet client needs, complying with standards.
* Identifying, recording, and mitigating design risks.
Requirements:
* Experience in design within piling and foundations engineering, with knowledge of Eurocode and British Standards.
* Experience managing teams in a similar environment.
* Understanding of materials and construction methods.
* Knowledge of BIM.
* Understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
* Excellent report writing skills.
* Willingness to travel frequently across the UK.
