Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PA/Carer to join our care team in providing high-quality support and assistance to our 13 year old son who is a full time wheelchair user. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in looking after a young person with cerebral palsy, including experience of dealing with epilepsy. Training can be given.
Duties
* Assist the young person with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
* Provide companionship and emotional support.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients' health conditions.
* Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements.
* Assist with mobility and transfers using a ceiling hoist
* Outings using our wheelchair assisted vehicle.
Experience
* Previous experience in caregiving within a school setting or home environment.
* Familiarity with epilepsy.
* Understanding the difficulties of a young person with cognitive and physical needs.
* Use of communication aids.
