SUPPORT WORKER - NORTH LANARKSHIRE, BELLSHILL
Support Worker for Skylar - 27 hours average per week.

Job description
We are currently recruiting experienced support staff to work with Skylar, a lady living in the Bellshill area of North Lanarkshire.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced support worker looking to develop their already existing support skills and to be involved in helping Sarah enjoy life and remain independent.
I am Skylar, and I am friendly, approachable and very sociable. I am resilient and determined and quite chatty!
I like to wear nice clothes and have my hair and nails done. I am very proud of my house like to be out and about socialising including trips to the cinema, shopping, or bowling. I like nice food and I love cats, but not dogs! My friends and family are very important to me, especially my children.
People who know and care about me say that I am always cheery, very kind and caring, very independent and like to be involved in lots of things. and I do like to say it as it is!
I love having the opportunity to explore new activities as I like living life to the full. I am a very sociable person and being involved in my community.
I am supported in all aspects of daily living, but I make my own choices and manage my own finances.
What I am looking for...
Someone who can cook healthy food.
Someone who DOES NOT smoke.
Someone who is calm and relaxed and has an air of confidence.
Someone who can encourage and support my independence.
Someone who will help me get out and about and explore new places.
Someone with at least a year's experience as a support worker
Someone who is patient and will give me time to talk.
Someone who will encourage and support me to build strong friendships.
Shifts are on 2-Week Rota as follows:-
Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday - 10:30-19:30pm
Week 2 - Wednesday, Thursday -10:30-19:30pm
There will be the opportunity to do overtime during team holiday times.
Main Tasks
To provide person centred care and support to the people Support for Ordinary Living work for in line with the mission, vision and values of the organisation the support worker role will:

Support an individual to live in their own home/ family home and help the individual live the lifestyle they choose.
Assist with personal care for example bathing where applicable.
Encourage and support people to make life choices.
Support individual to safeguard their property/ health & wellbeing/ finances and take appropriate action, when necessary, e.g.,call NHS 24 or Doctor in case of emergency.
Support people to become a valued member of their local community and support and encourage them to maintain and develop relationships with their friends, their family and their neighbours.
Encourage and support people to get involved in social activities.
Assist people with domestic tasks such as housework, shopping cooking and cleaning.
Treat people with dignity and respect at all times and recognise their rights to make their own choices.
Support the individual to meet their outcomes in line with their Outcome based support plan and plan for the future.
To work as part as a Self-Directed team, working in a consistent and flexible manner to support the individual to meet the outcomes outlined in the outcome-based support plan.
Adhere to SOL's policies and procedures to attend all planned meetings / training as requested.
Be an ambassador to SOL, safeguarding the positive image and reputation of the organisation.

Working towards qualification for registration for SSSC.
