Your new role As a Financial Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting tax compliance across the group. You’ll work closely with the Financial Controller and engage with a range of stakeholders to uphold and enhance the bank’s control environment. Preparing monthly management accounts, reconciliations, and variance analysis Supporting the annual report and accounts process Managing the fixed asset register Collaborating with tax advisors on corporation tax returns and compliance Maintaining the Finance team’s risk and controls register Providing audit support and strengthening the control environment Delivering ad hoc analysis for senior stakeholders Coaching and mentoring junior finance staff Driving continuous improvement initiatives within Finance What you'll need to succeed You’ll be ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with experience in financial services, either in practice or industry. A strong grasp of IFRS and corporation tax is essential, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders. You’ll be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable challenging processes to drive improvement. Familiarity with banking tools such as Phoebus, ALMIS, Alfa, and Tableau is a plus.
