If so, we have a rewarding opportunity for you to join a respected client based in Newbury as a Groundsman and Gardener.
This role offers the chance to work outdoors, keeping a variety of sites looking their best throughout the seasons! You’ll play an important part in enhancing the beauty and health of lawns, flower beds, and other landscaped areas, ensuring clients and visitors enjoy well-maintained green per week
Shift:
1. 09:00am to 17:00pm
2. Monday to hours per week
Job Responsibilities:
3. Maintain and enhance green spaces, including lawns, flower beds, hedgerows, and planted areas through regular watering, pruning, weeding, mulching, and seasonal planting.
4. Operate, maintain and safely store a range of horticultural machinery and tools such as lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, strimmer, and leaf blowers, ensuring equipment is cleaned and serviced regularly.
5. Monitor plant health and site conditions including nutrient deficiencies and take appropriate remedial action to preserve the appearance and vitality of all landscaped areas.
6. Support landscape improvement projects, such as replanting schemes, turf laying, or minor hard landscaping tasks, working to high visual and environmental standards.
7. Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, maintaining tidy work areas, using PPE appropriately, and following all risk assessments and safe systems of work.
8. Liaise with team members or site contacts to report issues, provide updates on progress, and ensure all tasks are completed on schedule and to a high standard.
Requirements:
9. Full Clean UK Driving Licence
10. Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial.
11. Strong knowledge of horticulture and gardening techniques.
12. Ability to operate and maintain gardening equipment.
13. Good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
