A well‑established organisation undergoing continued development within its finance function is seeking a Management Accountant to support the delivery of accurate financial information and enhanced reporting processes. You will be joining a collaborative finance team that plays a key role in providing insight, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting wider operational decision‑making.
Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you will support the production of monthly management accounts, forecasting and financial reporting. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the fixed asset register, running and analysing general ledger reports,pleting balance sheet and ie/expenditure reconciliations, and processing adjustment journals where required. You will respond to internal and external finance queries, assist with AP/AR processing, and contribute to the development of monthly performance reporting.
A key aspect of the role will involve identifying opportunities to streamline processes, increase automation, reduce duplication, and support continuous improvement across the finance team. You will also work closely with colleagues across the business to ensure financial information is produced accurately and in a timely manner.This is an initial three‑month assignment, however due to ongoing project work and team pressures, there is potential for the role to extend beyond this period.
What you'll need to succeed
1. AAT qualified / part‑qualified accountant or equivalent experience within a finance environment
2. Strong understanding of financial reconciliations, ledger management and month‑end processes
3. Confident user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
4. Good analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret financial information
5. Clear and effectivemunication skills, able to support and advise non‑finance stakeholders
6. Experience managing or resolving payroll‑related queries
7. Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team
8. Experience usingputerised finance systems
