About the Role: As a Teacher of English, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging and effective English lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5. Your responsibilities will include: Planning and delivering high-quality and differentiated English lessons that cater to the needs and abilities of all students across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5. Creating a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and a genuine interest in English language and literature. Utilising a range of teaching methodologies and resources to make lessons engaging and accessible. Assessing student progress in English through various methods, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey. Preparing students effectively for relevant examinations, including GCSE English Language and Literature and A-Level English Literature and/or Language. Managing classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a productive learning environment. Contributing to the development and implementation of the English curriculum across all key stages. Participating in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities. Building positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers. Candidate Profile: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled English teacher with a passion for their subject and the ability to inspire students of all ages. The ideal candidate will possess: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. A degree in English or a related subject with a significant English component. Proven experience teaching English at secondary school level, specifically across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5. Strong subject knowledge and a deep understanding of English language, literature, and relevant examination specifications. Excellent classroom management skills. The ability to differentiate teaching to meet the diverse needs of students across all key stages. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with students and colleagues. A commitment to continuous professional development.
