Job Summary
Part‑time vacancy (22.5 hours per week) for a qualified registered OT or Physiotherapist to join North East Drive Mobility (NEDM) at Walkergate Park Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne. The role is part of the CNTW NHS Foundation Trust and involves specialist clinical assessment of driving fitness, including on‑road evaluation with an Approved Driving Instructor and critical recommendations to service users. Car driver (full licence holder) is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Apply clinical expertise to assess practical function during on‑road assessment and deliver critical recommendations related to driving ability.
* Work flexibly between the main centre in Newcastle and outreach bases in Carlisle, Teesside, and occasionally Teesside once per week.
* Train in powered wheelchair/mobility scooter and specialist child car seat assessments as part of professional development.
* Complete a mandatory Driving Mobility education pathway programme fully funded as part of the role.
* Communicate effectively with service users, health professionals and key stakeholders including DVLA, Motability and police.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Registered OT or Physiotherapist with proven record of continued professional development.
* Experience working with neurological and musculoskeletal conditions preferred.

* Full driving licence (car driver) essential.
