We are seeking a Craftsperson (Overhead Lines) based in the Worcester depot, covering the Evesham and Banbury areas. Your role will involve construction, maintenance, replacement, and repair of overhead lines up to 66kV. This diverse position requires working in challenging terrains and weather conditions, often at heights, so experience with working at height is beneficial.
Qualifications
* Grade A C/4-9 GCSEs in English and Maths or Functional Skills Level qualifications in both subjects. Evidence of qualifications required prior to appointment.

The Ideal Candidate
Experience working on overhead cables or at heights is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates confident and capable of reaching required standards with training will be considered. You will need to study for relevant City & Guilds qualifications and complete TAR, including daily diary and task reports.
You must be proactive, able to work independently and as part of a team, make quick decisions, and meet tight deadlines. Flexibility is essential, including being mobile within the area and undertaking standby duties. Initial salary may be lower until training is completed. Residency within approximately 30 minutes of the depot is required.
Additional Information
Some roles involving working at height or fall arrest devices have an upper weight limit of 130kg for safety reasons. The role requires passing a satisfactory DBS check and other vetting procedures as applicable.
