Klute, a family-owned business with over 60 years of experience in steel fabrication, is expanding and seeking a full-time Maintenance Mechanic to join our growing team in York, Nebraska.

Primary Purpose
Inspect, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on company trucks, trailers, and forklifts.
Essential Responsibilities
* Build and assemble mechanical components as required
* Inspect machines, engines, and transmissions; run diagnostic tests
* Conduct repairs to ensure maximum reliability
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly
* Perform maintenance on trucks, forklifts, and trailers
* Apply lubricants and clean machinery components
* Replenish fluids and replace engine and machinery parts
* Advise on maintenance and preventative measures to vehicle operators
* Perform plant maintenance activities
* Undertake other duties as assigned
* Maintain logs and report issues
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education
* High School Diploma required
* Vocational certification is a plus
* Valid ASE certification preferred
* CDL license is a plus
Experience
* Knowledge of machinery, hydraulic, electrical systems, and components
* Proficiency with hand tools and measurement tools
* Ability to follow procedures, read instructions and blueprints
* Strong commitment to health and safety guidelines
* Excellent communication skills
* Problem-solving skills
* Physical strength and stamina
Physical Demands
* Standing/walking 80%
* Stooping, kneeling, reaching 20%
* Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
* Manual dexterity for handling tools and controls
* Ability to view computer monitor
* Frequent keyboard use
