Special Needs Teaching Assistant : Notting Hill
1:1 Support for a Year 4 Child with Autism (Non:Verbal)

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Notting Hill is seeking a committed and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with autism who is non:verbal. This full:time role will begin in September 2025 and continues through the academic year.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a meaningful impact on a childs learning and development within a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide consistent, personalised support throughout the school day.
*
Use alternative communication methods (such as PECS or Makaton) to support understanding and expression.
*
Support the pupils emotional regulation, social interaction, and engagement with learning.
*
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to implement an individualised education plan (IEP).
*
Promote a calm, nurturing, and structured environment.
The ideal candidate will:

Have experience working with children with autism and complex communication needs.
*
Be familiar with non:verbal communication strategies.
*
Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience.
*
Be proactive, organised, and a strong team player.
*
Ideally have experience in KS2 or upper primary.
