Battery Electromechanical Design Engineer – 12mth ContractLocation: Peterborough, UKIndustry: Technology / EngineeringEmployment Type: Full-Time CONTRACT 12 month - INSIDE IR35Hourly Rate: £30-36 p/hr (37hrs per week)We are currently seeking an experienced Electromechanical Design Engineer to join the Electrification + Energy Solutions Battery Development Team focused on concepting and designing a range of battery pack and EV electrical systems for a variety of in-house and 3rd Party applications.Key Responsibilities:Must have Strong Electrical and Mechanical Design Engineering experienceMust have strong 3d CAD Design experience with CreoGather and get agreement on requirements for Electrical harness, BDU, electrical component and hardware designContribute to risks assessments (DFMEAs), and update a risk reduction glidepath (to production)3D CAD design of Electrical System components, assemblies, LV harness and HV CablesBOM Creation for EV electrical components, cabling and wiringConcept development, structured collaborative down-selection through to production releaseLead the closure of testbed and in-field validation identified issues, communicating status to leadershipCommunicate validation information and status to internal and external customers and team membersDevelop and maintain a keen understanding of internal and external customers' needsKeep up to date on new battery technologies, manufacturing methods and legislation requirementsWhat We’re Looking For:2 or more years of high voltage battery/EV powertrain design experience with good fundamental battery system knowledgeDesign using PTC Creo including the packages Cabling, Schematics, Simulate, Engineering Drawing/DetailingConcept development of designs through structured collaborative down-selection to production releaseExperience with PLM toolsExperience of Product development through a structured NPI processExperience on designing within the requirements of compliance standardsAccredited bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering subject - i.e. Engineering, Product design, etc.Desirable Skills:Systems Engineering experiencePrevious off-highway industry experiencePrevious Automotive industry experienceBe part of a team that's shaping the future of power solutions.Apply now to join a world-class engineering team
