Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced, industrial setting? We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company that is looking to strengthen its engineering team with a skilled Mechanical Fitter.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and safety-focused environment where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly by responding to breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance, and working on a wide range of mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Respond to mechanical breakdowns as part of a multi-skilled team (alongside shift electricians) on a rotating shift pattern.
*
Carry out planned and preventative maintenance using CMMS to track and report tasks.
*
Fault find and repair a wide variety of rotating equipment – pumps, gearboxes, agitators, fans, pulpers, and more.
*
Align and install new mechanical equipment to precise tolerances.
*
Conduct machining tasks (lathe, milling, pillar drill) and carry out basic welding/fabrication work.
*
Maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam systems.
*
Assist with risk assessments and maintain adherence to all health & safety procedures.
*
Operate mobile plant such as forklift trucks and MEWPs (training provided).
What We’re Looking For:
*
A recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship.
*
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar industrial/mechanical maintenance role.
*
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
*
Working knowledge of CMMS systems and preventative maintenance techniques.
*
A self-starter with a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
*
Comfortable working on a rotating shift pattern, including one cover shift every 5 months.
