Job Responsibilities
* Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for residents and team members, ensuring the smooth running of the facilities and a good standard of general upkeep for the building.
* Resolve any home maintenance concerns promptly, using a working knowledge of building systems and related regulatory requirements (plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, equipment repairs, interior/exterior finishes, fire training, water and fire testing, health and safety checks).
* Engage with approved contractors when required and source alternative suppliers as needed.
* Cover all emergencies relating to the fabric of the home or systems contained within the building.
* Where applicable, manage the Maintenance Assistant: day-to-day supervision, objective setting, annual reviews, approval of hours, absence management, and holiday authorisation.
Shift Details
Shift Details: 9:00‑17:30 Monday to Friday, occasional weekends and on‑call.
Qualifications
* Solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
* Understanding of safety and fire safety systems.
* Ability to make responsible choices and decisions, acting in the best interest of residents.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) will be required to check for any previous criminal convictions.
