CNC Programmer -
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £14.00 - £16.00 per hour (DOE)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join a well‑established precision engineering team specialising in high‑quality components for a wide range of industries. You will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC machinery to produce parts to tight tolerances and exact specifications.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid CNC machining experience who takes pride in producing high‑quality work and enjoys working in a fast‑paced, hands‑on engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Program, set, and operate CNC machinery to produce precision components.
Create, amend, and optimise CNC programs to improve efficiency and machining quality.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
Carry out in‑process quality checks using appropriate measuring equipment.
Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to ensure smooth workflow.
Maintain machines, tools, and working areas to a high standard.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ensure best practice is followed.Desired Experience
Proven experience as a CNC Programmer in a precision engineering environment.
Ability to program at the machine (online) and/or offline using CAM software.
Experience working to tight tolerances and machining a variety of materials.
Sliding head lathe experience is highly beneficial but not essential.
Strong understanding of tooling, machining principles, and cutting strategies.
Confident with measurement tools such as micrometers, verniers, gauges, etc.
Ability to work independently with good problem‑solving skills.Working Hours
