The ideal location for candidates would be situated between the two locations.Role Purpose: You will be supporting other more senior members of the commercial team in delivering the varied commercial duties for our Rolls Royce projects, as well as being responsible for procuring and managing our supply chain. You will actively seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality for our client. What you will be doingMeasure, record & value work unsupervised in accordance with appropriate rules and proceduresWork with PM and single source contractor over value engineering reductionsMeasure & interpret specifications & drawingsBuild up estimates from first principle including net and gross estimatesTranslate measurement from drawings and Specifications and prepare Bills of Quantities and/or Schedules of ratesProvide input and commercial adjudication to potential tenders (Go/No-go, etc)Review weekly, monthly, programmes of works Plan commercial activities to meet requirements of programmesHave an understanding of delay and disruption programmesUse the companys Evolution MX SystemPrepares, submits and negotiates claims when required. Including monthly valuations and final accountCollation of Cost and Value Information for monthly reviewsExperienced in NEC3/4 - Issue and management of Early Warning Notices / EWN Register, Risk Register, Compensation Events and alikeMonitors subcontract activities, measure and respond appropriately with applicable noticesPreparation of Cost reconciliation statementsHelp identify savings and value engineeringCollect information required to specify procurement requirementsRecord and document information including registration of interestUndertakes customer and stakeholder management for their area of responsibilityVetting of contractual terms and conditions in accordance with Integral house rulesCash management: Commercial processes involved with debt recovery, retentions and cash flowMeasurement of works and agreements with subcontractors, including placement of sub-contract orders (T&Cs), valuing applications, measurement of variations and final account agreementWhat we will need from youBSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalentProven and demonstrable experience in the role of a Quantity Surveyor within the building/construction/building service industries (essential).Experience of working in occupied buildings/campuses (essential).Experience in the use of NEC3 Contracts (highly desirable)Competent user of IT software packages including MS Office,Excellent interpersonal skills, with clear and confident written and verbal communication skills (essential).High level organisational ability along with time management skills in order to drive and meet deadlines (essential).Self-motivated with a proactive approach to all tasks undertaken.
