Job Description
New Directions Education are recruiting a SEN Learning Support Assistant to work in a SEND school in Wallasey. This is a rewarding opportunity for a caring and patient individual to support children with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access the curriculum, develop skills, and achieve their potential.
The Role:
1. Supporting pupils with SEND in the classroom and during small group activities
2. Assisting teachers in delivering individualised learning programs and interventions
3. Maintaining a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
4. Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
5. Collaborating with teachers, SENCo, and other support staff to monitor and support pupil progress
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
6. Experience working with children in a school or educational support role, preferably with SEND
7. Knowledge of SEND strategies, differentiation, and inclusive practices
8. Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
9. A caring, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting pupils with additional needs
10. A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
All candidates must hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check.
