Job Introduction

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our team to support our network of mental health support settings. As an RMN, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. You will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in mental health care facilities


Main Responsibilities

As an RMN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to residents. Take Five Healthcare is committed to delivering exceptional standards of care, and we are looking for a skilled and compassionate RMNs to contribute to our mission in supporting our clients.

As an RMN, you will be responsible for the following key responsibilities while on assignment; however, it is not exhaustive:

* Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ mental health conditions, including their psychological, emotional, and social needs.
* Develop individualized care plans based on assessments, incorporating patients’ goals and preferences.
* Administer medications and monitor patients for any side effects or adverse reactions.
* Provide therapeutic interventions and support to patients, utilizing evidence-based approaches such as counselling, cognitive-behavioural therapy, and group therapy.
* Monitor and evaluate patients’ progress, documenting observations and making necessary adjustments to care plans.
* Collaborate with the healthcare team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists, to ensure coordinated and holistic care delivery.
* Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, coping strategies, and self-care practices.
* Advocate for patients’ rights and needs, ensuring they are treated with dignity, respect, and equality.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care, share observations, and contribute to treatment planning.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and best practices.


The Ideal Candidate

To excel in the role of an RMN an ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and qualities:

* Valid registration as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN with the NMC
* Proven experience and competence in delivering high-quality nursing care in a mental health care setting.
* Strong clinical skills, including the ability to conduct assessments, administer medications, and manage complex care needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build therapeutic relationships with patients and their families.
* Empathy, compassion, and a person-centred approach to care, prioritizing the well-being and dignity of patients.
* Sound knowledge of mental health conditions, treatments, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues from various disciplines.
* Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development, keeping up-to-date with advancements in mental health nursing practice.
