Infinitesima was spun out of the University of Bristol in 2001 and has been developing innovative metrology solutions to improve speed and precision in semiconductor manufacturing. The company's technology combines atomic force microscopy (AFM) surface detection, high-speed laser activation, and interferometry accuracy. Their Rapid Probe Microscope (RPM) is protected by extensive patents and is used by leading semiconductor equipment companies globally. Semiconductor devices underpin advancements across technology sectors, from smartphones to AI, 5G, and autonomous vehicles. Scaling these processes demands sub-nanometer measurement of complex 3D structures to enable more powerful devices.
