Were seeking a Buyer to join our dynamic team and take responsibility for sourcing, supplier management, and procurement activities that support new product introduction (NPI) and production programmes. As a Buyer, youll work closely with engineering, R&D, and project teams to ensure materials and components are sourced on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Youll play a key role in developing supplier relationships and supporting them through APQP and quality planning processes to meet programme requirements. Key Responsibilities for the Buyer: Partner with cross-functional teams to understand NPI requirements and deliver effective procurement support. Source and purchase materials and components in line with programme schedules. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, acting as the key point of contact for all purchasing activities. Manage supplier quotations, RFQs, and cost evaluations to ensure value and reliability. Support supplier quality documentation such as APQP and PPAP where required. Monitor supplier performance and address potential risks early. Maintain accurate BOM data and support engineering change activities. Contribute to project reviews, providing clear updates on supply chain status and risks. Requirements for the Buyer role: Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Minimum 3 years procurement experience, ideally within manufacturing or NPI environments. Solid understanding of sourcing processes, supply chain management, and BOM structures. Experience using ERP/MRP systems (IFS preferred). Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving ability. Desirable Skills & Qualifications for the Buyer: Experience in mechanical engineering, precision components, machined parts, or high-pressure systems. Understanding of NPI lifecycles from prototype through to production release. Familiarity with APQP / PPAP / supplier quality principles. APICS or CIPS Level 4 qualification. Experience conducting supplier audits and managing quality processes.
