Marine & Helicopter Coordination is a key support function within the Offshore Operations & Logistics department of Construction, enabling safe operations offshore, safe transit, and access to the OWF, assets within the OWF, and emergency response during the construction of an OWF.
The role includes day and night shifts and weekend work. There is scope for additional ad-hoc shifts during the main contract period and ad-hoc work before and after the main contract period.
Key Tasks:
* Emergency response coordination; acting as the front line person responsible for coordinating the response as well as liaising with relevant parties such as project staff and external agencies.
* Vessel / helicopter traffic control as per agreed coordination protocols, procedures, and processes.
* People, vessel, and communications tracking.
* Manage WTG access restrictions.
* Ensure vessel allocations and unforeseen changes to the daily plan/schedule optimize the efficient use of available vessels.
* Operate the offshore management system ensuring all offshore personnel have the correct certification & all assets are maintained to the latest status.
* Liaise with local stakeholders as required.
* Provide weather forecasting and observation system data, interpret it to advise and recommend to Project and Vessel Masters.
* Manage relationships with weather data and observation system providers.
* Monitor weather & marine operations on the OWF, surveillance & vessel avoidance.
* Liaise & advise on documentation, HSE, marine inspection, and helicopter operations.
* Handle statutory reporting related to pollution, lighting, drifting buoys, and vessel infringement.
Work Schedule: 12 hours per day, 1 week on/1 week off, with flexibility for extended rotations up to 14-21 days. Exact shift pattern to be confirmed at interview, with potential extension based on workload.
Requirements:
* Local applicants preferred, within approximately 2 hours of Grimsby.
* At least 2 years of experience in Marine Coordination.
* Proficiency with Supplier Database for Offshore Operations and Radio Communications.
* Computer literacy and familiarity with Maritime Certification.
* Ability to work proactively as part of a team, under pressure, and engage well within the organization.
* Experience in offshore emergency response, personnel tracking, marine traffic control, airspace coordination, weather monitoring, surveillance, vessel avoidance, and liaison & advisory roles including documentation, HSE, marine inspection, and helicopter operations.
