Internal Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging Technician Assistant Durham, NC The Triangle's premier emergency and multi-specialty hospital is seeking a highly motivated Technician Assistant to join our internal medicine and diagnostic imaging teams. Job Summary The Internal Medicine Technician Assistant (Monday - Thursday) is responsible for assisting the technicians and clinicians so they are able complete daily tasks in an efficient manner. In conjunction with patient care, this role is also responsible for the routine cleaning and husbandry of the hospital ensuring proper infectious disease protocols are followed. As the Diagnostic Imaging Technician Assistant (Friday), this position assists with properly handling patients for medical procedures, ultrasounds, and radiographs, set up for and assisting with obtaining ultrasound guided aspirates, and prepare patient records and radiology reports for clinicians. Essential Job Functions Proper and safe patient handling canine and feline patients for basic medical procedures and physical exams Prepare for and assist with routine Internal Medicine procedures (endoscopy, bone marrow aspirates, feeding tube placement) Inventory management and stock supplies in Special Procedures room Assist clinicians and technicians with patient care Assist in positioning and acquisition of patient radiographs Proactively assist team members throughout the hospital when necessary Enter patient vitals into electronic medical records and complete patient treatments, in addition to other necessary basic entry into patient records Process in-house and reference lab samples Complete service’s daily and weekly cleaning task lists Fill in-house prescriptions, fax prescription authorizations, and call-in basic prescriptions to outside pharmacies Preferred Education and Experience 1 years of experience in the veterinary field Professional experience with proper canine and feline patient handling techniques Graduation from high school or GED equivalent In addition to a competitive salary, TVRH offers a comprehensive benefits package including: Health, vision, and dental Short-term and long-term disability Critical Illness and Accident Legal and ID Shield Life Insurance 401k with employer match Internal benefits include PTO, CE PTO and allowance, uniform allowance, and veterinary services discount.
