Senior Quantity Surveyor
Based at Bryn Station
£(Apply online only) per day working inside of IR35
Immediate start, 4 month contract - potential for contract extension and future works
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a high-profile rail infrastructure programme. You will play a key role in the commercial management of a portfolio of station improvement projects focused on enhancing accessibility across four stations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative project team and contribute to meaningful transport infrastructure improvements.
Responsibilities
* Deliver accurate commercial reporting, cost forecasting and profitability management.
* Ensure contractual obligations relating to cost, quality, time and value are achieved.
* Manage subcontractor accounts from procurement through to final account settlement.
* Prepare and assess subcontractor valuations, variations, payments and final accounts.
* Identify, measure, value and manage project change.
* Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting within project systems.
* Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, company procedures and governance standards.
* Provide commercial support and insight to operational and delivery teams.
* Support forecasting, accruals, change management and supply chain negotiations.
* Produce timely cost control and performance reporting for senior stakeholders.
* Manage and develop commercial team members where applicable.
* Promote and contribute to health, safety and environmental objectives.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
* Strong background in subcontractor procurement and commercial management.
* Previous rail sector experience is essential.
* Sound knowledge and practical experience of NEC3 contracts.
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline.
* Valid CSCS card.
* Membership of, or working towards membership of, RICS, CIOB or equivalent professional body.
* Strong commercial and contractual knowledge across a range of contract types.
* Experience negotiating complex commercial issues, accounts and disputes.
* Excellent communication, planning and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.
