At Syngenta, we harness data and AI to transform crop protection discovery and development. We're seeking a Head of Data and AI Technologies to lead our data and AI tools and technology strategy across Crop Protection Research & Development — shaping the technology that accelerates agricultural innovation globally.
Accountabilities:
* Lead and develop multiple data and AI teams, evolving CP R&D's digital science capabilities and blurring the boundary between science and technology
* Drive data and AI investment priorities aligned with strategic must-wins, ensuring maximum business impact
* Ensure reliable, high-quality digital capabilities underpinned by scalable architecture aligned with enterprise standards
* Engage with external academic and industrial partners to explore and shape emerging technology collaborations
* Act as ambassador for Syngenta's data and AI efforts internally and externally
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* Proven track record building and leading high-performing data, AI, or analytics teams in complex global organisations
* Demonstrated ability to develop technology strategy aligned to business priorities and drive enterprise-wide adoption
* Extensive senior stakeholder management experience across multiple functions and geographies
* Confident decision-making in ambiguous, fast-moving technology environments
* Genuine passion for sustainable agriculture and science-based innovation
* Ideally a post-graduate degree in a digital science or related field
Desired Qualifications:
* Experience in R&D or scientific computing environments
* Background in ethical AI governance frameworks
* Track record of academic or industrial technology partnerships

Jealott's Hill International Research Centre UK is situated in pleasant semi-rural surroundings between Bracknell and Maidenhead and is the place of work for approximately 800 Syngenta scientists and support staff. Jealott’s Hill is one of the main global research and development sites and key activities include research into discovery of new active ingredients, new formulation technologies, product safety and technical support of our product range.
