Senior Support Worker – Residential Care Home, Learning Disabilities
Care Through The Millennium is a well-established private residential care and supported living provider offering support to vulnerable adults.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Support Worker to join our dedicated team supporting vulnerable adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in Shirley, South Birmingham. This role involves providing leadership to a small team of support staff, ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred support for our service users, and acting as a mentor and administrator.
Responsibilities
* Offer guidance, development and support to the staff team, acting as a mentor
* Assist the Management team in the day‑to‑day running of the home and support with designated administration
* Conduct one‑to‑one meetings with team members
* Support new team members during induction and the probationary period
* Participate in assessment and planning to meet service‑user needs
* Take part in meetings with other professionals and family members
* Provide hands‑on, high‑quality support and companionship to service users
* Ensure the smooth running of the home in the absence of the registered manager
Requirements
Applicants must have achieved the Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship, a Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care, or an equivalent care qualification and be willing to work towards the Leader in Adult Care Apprenticeship. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required.
Hours & Shift
42‑hour week on a flexible shift system, including long days and on‑call responsibilities.
