Overview
As an Deputy Academy Manager you are responsible for supporting the Academy Manager with the operations of the Academy every week, and step up when need to run the Academy, facilitating the smooth signing in and out of the students, liaising with parents, supporting students and staff, and overseeing the creative output of the Academy.
Above all the Deputy Academy Manager is responsible for the safeguarding and security of every student whilst they are at PQA.
Duties
BEFORE ACADEMY
* Communication with the Principal about all things relevant to the operation of the session
* Planning a team briefing & timetabling the session with the Principal beforehand
* Liaising with the staff about the upcoming session
* Send any relevant reminders via the WhatsApp Community
* Respond to any texts, community messages, or social media messages
* Actively ensuring you have all the info and tools to successfully operate the Academy
DURING ACADEMY
* Put safeguarding first General & risk assessing of the venue, as well as any situations that arise
* Making educated judgement calls on unexpected changes based on training
* Ensuring that the brand standard is always exceptional in person and on through social media assets taken on the day
* Building relationships with parents and students through open communication, promoting engagement & safeguarding
* Separating personal feelings from the needs of the business, and making unemotional decisions
* Leading by example at all times, with a positive attitude and enabling language
* Mentoring the staff in the successful execution of their roles and supporting them in whatever way necessary
* Ensuring the classes and creative output are meeting expectations, deadlines, and OLA, and holding staff accountable
* Helping to keep PQA accessible to all, both through language as well as student support
* Regularly inventories of all PQA equipment and PPE
* Prioritise, but never ignore, never defer, and never procrastinate - be proactive
AFTER ACADEMY
* Logging any Safeguarding concerns (instances should be reported when they happen)
* Following up on any first aid instances with parents and ensuring they've been logged
* Reporting any behavioural incidents / warnings
* Ensure the staff have passed on any relevant info and their rooms are clear and clean
* Complete the Academy Report on the same day as PQA
* Be available for a call if there is anything you know will need urgent or quick response
Requirements
* Proven experience in a managerial role or similar position is preferred.
* Strong background in performing arts coaching or teaching, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a keen attention to detail.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating leadership qualities.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

* Diploma of Higher Education (preferred)
