Job Title: Credit Controller
Location: Baglan, Port Talbot
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Holiday Entitlement: 28 days annual leave, inclusive of bank holidays

Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused Credit Controller to join our finance team based in Port Talbot. This role plays a key part in protecting cash flow, maintaining accurate financial records, and building professional relationships with customers and suppliers.
You will take ownership of the credit control process while supporting broader accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bookkeeping activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Credit Control & Cash Flow
* Proactively manage customer accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices
* Monitor aged debt and take appropriate action to reduce overdue balances
* Carry out credit checks on new customers and recommend suitable credit limits
* Maintain and enforce credit control procedures in line with company policy
* Liaise with customers to resolve payment queries and agree payment plans where required
* Escalate high-risk or overdue accounts in a timely and professional manner
Accounts Receivable & Payable
* Raise, process, and reconcile sales invoices accurately
* Allocate customer payments and maintain the sales ledger
* Process supplier invoices and support payment runs
* Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies
* Assist with cash flow forecasting and reporting
* Bookkeeping & Finance Support
* Maintain accurate financial records and general ledgers
* Support the preparation of monthly management accounts
* Assist with year-end processes, audits, and compliance requirements
* Work closely with the wider finance team to improve processes and controls
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
* AAT Level 3 (or above) desirable
* Proven experience in a Credit Controller or similar finance role
* Strong working knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Excel
* Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
* Confident communicator with the ability to build professional relationships
* Well-organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities
