We are looking for individuals interested in developing their skills in healthcare support, with potential employment opportunities upon completion of the apprenticeship.
Responsibilities include:
* Developing skills to obtain consent prior to care, in accordance with Trust policies.
* Following patient care plans under supervision and reporting changes to registered nurses or assistant practitioners.
* Participating in basic patient assessments and providing personal care, ensuring high standards of skin integrity and patient alertness.
* Practicing safe care standards following Trust guidelines, maintaining concentration despite interruptions.
* Adhering to infection prevention and health and safety policies.
* Maintaining a clean and accessible patient bed space and ensuring patients have necessary items within reach.
* Facilitating patient self-care and independence.
* Promoting health education aligned with policies.
* Maintaining effective records and communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Ensuring equipment and supplies are well maintained and reporting faults.
* Working effectively as part of a team.
* Pursuing a Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard as a Healthcare Support Worker through Weston College.
* Attending workshops at Weston College and participating in on-site assessments to evaluate progress.
Shift patterns will vary weekly.
