Exciting Opportunity for a Senior Theatre Support Worker in Emergency and Neuro Theatres. This role involves working alongside Registered Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) to ensure safe and efficient delivery of care to patients undergoing surgery.
We are looking for someone who is confident, calm under pressure, and able to think on their feet. The role suits someone who thrives in fast-paced, challenging environments, can prioritise tasks effectively, and communicates well within a team. You will take initiative, assume responsibility, and support the surgical team in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care even in challenging circumstances.

Job responsibilities
* Provide good quality personalised care in accordance with local and national standards.
* Assist patients to access and use toilet facilities or continence aids and achieve physical comfort.
* Assist in positioning patients in theatre and recovery areas, ensuring pressure areas are protected and patient comfort maintained.
* Work flexibly within theatres (days, evenings, weekends).
* Undertake clinical duties relevant to the area following competency achievement.
* Handle and store patient specimens safely in line with Trust policy.
* Maintain patient safety and comply with health, safety, security policies and guidelines.
* Promote equality in care and practice by recognising and meeting the needs of individuals.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and productive care environment in line with hygiene standards.
* Develop and maintain competence in accordance with Trust and local policy.
* Communicate and document information promptly and appropriately.
* Assist in resolving issues and complaints at local level and report outcomes to the line manager.
* You will need to provide evidence of qualifications. All overseas qualifications must be demonstrated as comparable to UK standards through UK ENIC.
Person Specification
Knowledge & Experience
* Experience of working in the theatre environment.
* Extensive experience in processing and decontamination of Endoscopes.
* Understanding of health and safety issues within healthcare.
* Understanding of confidentiality principles.
* Understanding of the role of a Band 3 Senior Theatre Support Worker.
* Experience of working as part of a team.
Qualifications & Education
* Basic General Education.
* GCSE Maths & English grade C/4 or above or level 2 numeracy and literacy.
* INCS/NVQ Level 3 in care or a similar care qualification (within 18 months of start date).
* NVQ Level 2 in care or BCNS.
Desirable
* Basic IT skills.
