Job Description
We’re looking for a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Care Assistant to support a gentleman with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in his home and community. He enjoys music, films, gaming, sport, and exploring Cornwall.
Responsibilities
* Deliver respectful and dignified personal care
* Manage and maintain ventilation equipment (full training provided)
* Support meal preparation and feeding
* Carry out light domestic tasks to maintain a clean, safe home
* Administer medication and attend medical/personal appointments
* Support access to community and leisure activities, including:
o Trips around Cornwall
o Music, films, and gaming
o Theatre and cinema outings
o Eateries and restaurants
o UK-based holidays and short breaks
Qualifications
* Full UK driving licence – driver essential
* Comfortable in a non‑smoking environment
* Kind, reliable, enthusiastic
* Interest in music, entertainment, games, or sports is a bonus
* Willingness to follow detailed care plans and learn new skills
* No prior experience necessary – full training provided
