Your Role and Responsibilities
As the Clinical Lead, you will:
* Oversee all aspects of clinical governance and quality assurance, ensuring patient safety and clinical effectiveness.
* Drive service development initiatives and act as an advisor on policy implementation.
* Champion research and innovation to enhance clinical guidance and service protocols.
* Collaborate with Turning Point colleagues nationwide to optimize patient care.
* Provide clinical supervision and training to fellow clinicians.
* Embrace the opportunity to teach students from various disciplines within the MDT.
You will also treat our most complex patients by:
* Offering expert advice on diagnosis, assessment, and care planning, particularly for complex drug interactions and comorbid conditions.
* Accepting referrals for individuals with severe or complex needs.
* Providing oversight for psychosocial support based on comprehensive research knowledge.
* Introducing innovative interventions to improve patient outcomes.
* Conducting complex prescribing, including injectable opioid substitution treatments when necessary.
* Collaborating with stakeholders, including HM Coroners courts and probation services, to ensure comprehensive care.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking an experienced Addiction Psychiatrist, GP Specialist, or a qualified Specialty Doctor to step into the role of Clinical Lead. Your leadership skills and clinical expertise will be essential in driving service delivery and development.
The ideal candidate will:
* Be accredited as a ‘specialist’ in substance use treatment, with one of the following qualifications:
o Listed on the GMC’s Specialist Register as a psychiatrist with an endorsement in addiction.
o Have equivalent training and experience certified by the GMC through a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
o Be listed on the GMC’s GP Register (or equivalent) with appropriate training and experience.
o Meet the criteria of a specialty doctor in Addictions with relevant experience.
