About ARU:
ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. ARU holds a Gold award for the quality of its education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
ARU's research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK's Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK's leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.
About the Role:
Based within our Distance Learning Services team, you will be supporting distance learning students and Degree Apprentices to ensure a positive and engaging experience throughout their studies. You'll take ownership of student queries, provide guidance on using digital learning platforms, and monitor engagement and progression. You'll play a key role in developing and improving support processes and working with academic and professional services colleagues, to support student retention, wellbeing, and success.
With a degree, relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience, you'll bring a strong awareness of the demands of distance learning and a commitment to student experience. You'll have excellence customers service skills, ideally with experience of supporting students and online learners. You'll have excellent organisational and communication skills, a flexible and customer-focused approach, and the ability to work independently. You'll be proactive in resolving issues, producing reports, and improving support processes. No two days will be the same, so adaptability and initiative are key.
This is a part time role working 14 hours per week. The specific working hours are flexible to be agreed between you and your line manager and will be a mix of working from the Chelmsford campus, including Tuesdays with the rest of the DLS team, and some home working.
