What's in it for you? 45-50k market leading benefits package Progression opportunities Hybrid Working About you Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) Excellent Excel and systems experience Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to deli with senior stakeholders What you'll do Lead the preparation of Annual Financial Statements, Whole of Government Accounts, and other statutory returns in line with public sector regulations and departmental guidance. Provide expert advice on regulatory and technical financial matters to ensure compliance with legislation, recommended accounting practices, and taxation requirements. Act as primary liaison with External Auditors, ensuring timely preparation of audit schedules and follow-up on recommendations. Oversee cash flow forecasting, ensuring appropriate drawdown of monthly funding. Ensure accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger, including reconciliations (bank, balance sheet, sales/purchase ledgers), VAT compliance, and capital claims. Maintain and manage Fixed Asset and Deferred Capital Grant records. Support the preparation of financial forecasts and three-year financial plans. Develop and review financial systems, policies, and procedures to maintain high internal control standards and ensure compliance with Department for the Economy guidance. Lead improvements in finance operations through system optimisation, staff training, and process enhancements. Ensure team members have access to up-to-date procedures and guidance and provide operational support as needed. Carry out any additional duties as assigned by senior finance leadership.
