Role Overview
The post holder provides specialist occupational therapy service to clients within the Elderly Care Unit. They will be leading the Acute Elderly care OT service and team. The post holder is responsible for managing a caseload of clients with complex needs, using evidence-based and client-centred practice in the assessment and the planning, implementation and evaluation of interventions. They will work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, identifying, coordinating and organising the appropriate care and rehabilitation service and home/hospital set-up needed to ensure the safe and timely discharge of patients from the acute hospital.
The post holder will also provide specialist occupational therapy service to clients within the Orthopaedics and Surgical wards and lead the Ortho/Surgery teams within OT.
