-----------------------------------
Right then. Let's get straight to the point.
We're on the lookout for a Recruitment Consultant who actually likes business development. Yes, those rare few who don't break out in a cold sweat at the phrase "client calls".
You'll be joining a grown-up business with a solid reputation in the US construction and civil engineering market (think big buildings, bigger budgets, and clients who don't want to waste time). You'll be based in our shiny Altrincham office, supported by a delivery team so good they make placements in their sleep. We're not saying they're magic, but we've stopped asking how they do it.
What we need is someone who's comfortable leading the charge on BD - finding new clients, negotiating terms, and building long-lasting relationships that don't rely on bribing them with Pret vouchers.
-----------------------------------
What you'll actually be doing (besides drinking tea and looking smug when deals land):
* Proactively developing business with new clients in the US construction/civil engineering sector
* Calling, emailing, Zooming - whatever it takes to get a foot in the door
* Negotiating terms like a friendly bulldog in a well-cut suit
* Working closely with our top-tier delivery consultants who will fill your jobs so efficiently it'll feel like cheating
* Travelling to the US on occasion (passport required, cowboy hat optional)
-----------------------------------
What we're looking for:
* Someone who knows recruitment like the back of their hand - this isn't one for the juniors
* Confident on the phone, calm under pressure, and sharp with negotiations
* You actually enjoy business development - not just tolerate it between sausage rolls
* Knowledge of the full recruitment lifecycle (bonus points if you've worked US markets before)
* A sense of humour, thick skin, and a healthy disregard for office politics
-----------------------------------
What you get in return:
* A proper grown-up salary (£35K) with 40% commission - if you're good, you'll earn very well
* 12-8pm hours (perfect for night owls, gym-goers, or parents of small feral children)
* Work from home Fridays - and if you're on target, Friday becomes your unofficial three-day weekend
* Regular US trips to remind you that not all meetings involve instant coffee and a broken whiteboard
* A no-nonsense, supportive team that values results over presenteeism
