Main purpose of job
To support the design, validation, and delivery of mechanical systems and components across product lines, applying mechanical engineering principles to deliver reliable, manufacturable, and compliant solutions. This role develops core engineering skills through practical application, training, and project exposure, contributing to product quality, performance, and compliance.
Responsibilities
Technical Contribution
Support 3D part and assembly modelling using Siemens NX, assist with drafting, tolerance studies, and basic FEA tasks, contribute to prototype builds and field test support, create and maintain BOM and documentation under supervision, learn and apply manufacturing techniques in a production environment, and support adherence to CE marking and ISO 9001 standards under guidance.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Liaise with production, quality, and suppliers under supervision to ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements. Work with senior engineers to resolve design-related challenges.
Communication
Provide timely progress updates to line manager and project lead. Participate in design reviews and training sessions to develop engineering capability.
Documentation and Change Control
Support accurate creation and maintenance of engineering documentation. Assist in implementing engineering changes through the ECN process.
Continuous Improvement
Proactively seek learning opportunities in design tools, standards, and processes. Suggest process or design improvements as knowledge develops.
Independence
Responsibility: Executes assigned tasks with supervision, escalating issues when needed. Decisions: Follows established procedures, seek guidance for problem-solving, and applies learned skills to defined tasks.
