Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join an internationally leading research team working to understand the mechanisms causing obesity and find and test new weight loss treatments. The Research Associate (Honorary Resident Doctor) will work as part of an established team to conduct a range of experimental medicine studies and clinical trials led by Professor Sadaf Farooqi. They will be responsible for recruiting patients, conducting physiological measurements and provide support and clinical care for the patients involved in clinical trials.


Responsibilities

* Recruit patients and participate in conducting physiological measurements and provide support and clinical care for patients involved in clinical trials.
* Travel to clinics/surgeries across the UK to assess patients before, during and after recruitment into trials.
* Work as part of an established team to conduct a range of experimental medicine studies and clinical trials.


Qualifications and requirements

* GMC registration
* MRCP
* At least 2 years postgraduate clinical experience


Contract, start date and funding

* Honorary Clinical Contract with Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (Honorary Resident Doctor).
* Available to start from 1 August 2026.
* Funding supporting this position available until 31 July 2027 in the first instance.
